Is there a dress code my child should adhere to?

Students should dress neatly and appropriately and come to school with learning in mind. We do not permit visual distractions in dress or accessories including, but not limited to:

  • Short shorts/skirts (shorts and skirts must be finger-tip length)
  • Tank tops
  • Halter tops/tube tops
  • Spaghetti strap tops or dresses
  • Low-cut shirts
  • Backless outfits
  • Bare midriffs
  • Cut-offs
  • Pajama/lounge-bottom pants

We also do not permit clothing with insignias emphasizing or relating to weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sex, nudity, or offensive propaganda. Additionally, head coverings of any kind are not permitted on campus during the school day.

For more information about our dress code, please see our Student Handbook in the Quick Links section of our Home page.

Is bus transportation available for my child?

Transportation is available to qualifying students and is a privilege--not a right. Student behavior on a school or activity bus should be the same as that in a well-ordered classroom. Disorderly conduct or refusal to respect the authority of the driver is sufficient reason for a discipline referral. Visit our district's Transportation page for more information.

How do I find out about school closures due to inclement weather?

At times of inclement or bad weather, PUSD may alter the school's schedule for the safety of students and staff members. In addition to our school and District websites, the following media outlets help us communicate this information:

  • Emergency Weather Hotline - (928) 608-4100 (Option 1)
  • Radio Stations
    • KAFF 92.9
    • KPGE 93.3
    • KTNN 660

In cases of prolonged inclement weather, the District may cancel school. If a school day is canceled, it must be made up on a future date.
